Cessna Citation CJ2

The Citation CJ2 is a capable light jet for the shorter Mexico corridors, with enough range for the most common US-border-to-Mexico-City sectors and a cabin that six or seven passengers will find comfortable for two to three hours. Cessna stretched the CJ1 airframe to build the CJ2, adding cabin length and Williams FJ44-2C engines. Cruise is 418 knots, seating is six to seven, and single-pilot certification is retained. Why the Cessna Citation CJ2 Fits Mexico

At 1,613 nautical miles of range, the CJ2 handles the Houston-to-Monterrey and Dallas-to-Monterrey corridors comfortably and can reach Cancun from Miami or Houston with margin. The Mexico City-area gateway at Toluca is within range from the US border, though a full cabin from a sea-level US departure will arrive with good fuel. Toluca’s 8,460-foot elevation matters more on the departure side, and the operator confirms hot-and-high performance before we put it on a quote.

Monterrey is the CJ2’s strongest Mexico fit. The city is Mexico’s industrial anchor for automotive, steel, glass, and manufacturing, and the Houston and Dallas corridors see consistent corporate demand. A same-day return from either Texas city is entirely practical in a CJ2.

Landing and customs permits are applied for after a trip has been secured on the aircraft schedule, and the timeline is sometimes set by the local airport authorities.
