The Bombardier Global 6500 is one of the most capable long-range jets available for Mexico charter, covering 6,600 nautical miles nonstop and carrying the latest-generation Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines. For Mexico City trips, Toluca is the right gateway: the Global 6500’s high-altitude performance margins manage the 8,460-foot elevation without the payload compromises a smaller jet would need.
Bombardier re-engined the Global 6000 airframe with Pearl 15 turbofans and a redesigned wing to produce the 6500, first delivered in September 2019. The cabin seats 13 in a typical four-zone configuration, up to 17 at maximum density, with a stand-up cabin and multiple lavatories. Range is 6,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.85.

Why the Bombardier Global 6500 Fits Mexico
The nonstop case from Mexico City (Toluca) to New York is straightforward at roughly 2,200 nautical miles: a Global 6500 flies it in under five hours with a full cabin and wide fuel margins. At Toluca’s 8,460 feet, density altitude can exceed 11,000 feet on warm afternoons, and the Global 6500’s high-altitude performance handles that without restricting payload the way a smaller jet would.
For West Coast US-to-Mexico trips, Los Angeles to Los Cabos runs about 900 nautical miles, and Los Angeles to Toluca is roughly 1,500 nautical miles: both well inside the envelope. The aircraft positions easily from the US, and ferry fees are part of the cost on any Mexico charter with a foreign-registered aircraft.
Transatlantic legs from Mexico City to London run about 5,500 nautical miles. The Global 6500 covers that with a fuel stop; clients who need the nonstop should look at the Global 7500 or Global 8000. For the range of Mexico corporate and leisure destinations, though, 6,600 nautical miles is more reach than most Mexico itineraries need.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
