Pilatus PC-24

The Pilatus PC-24 is the only jet on this site certified for unpaved runways, and in the Mexico market that distinction opens airstrips that no other super light jet can legally serve. Six to eight seats, 440 knots, 2,000 nautical miles, and a cargo door that Swiss manufacturer Pilatus carried forward from the PC-12.

Pilatus built the PC-24 as a Super Versatile Jet with two Williams FJ44-4A engines, a large aft cargo door and approval for grass, gravel and dirt surfaces. Six to eight seats, 440 knots and 2,000 nautical miles of range.

Why the Pilatus PC-24 Fits Mexico

Mexico has a significant network of private ranches, eco-lodges, and remote destinations served by unpaved or short airstrips that are unreachable by conventional jets. The PC-24’s certified short-field and rough-surface capability is the one specification that addresses those trips directly, and no other aircraft in the super light or light jet categories shares it. What any specific tail can do on a given day is the operator’s performance calculation, not a blanket promise.

The cargo door is the second distinction. Bulky or awkward loads go in through the aft door rather than being turned sideways through a passenger door, which on a Mexico eco-tourism or research trip with equipment cases, dive gear, or medical supplies changes the logistics. For more standard Mexico leisure routes the door matters less, but it never hurts.

At 2,000 nautical miles of range the PC-24 covers all the primary Mexico sectors without a stop, from Texas to Mexico City and from Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula. Tulum International (MMTL), which opened for civilian operations in December 2023, gives the eco-luxury market on the Riviera Maya direct jet access, and the PC-24 is a natural aircraft for that type of client.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Pilatus PC-24 run $4,200 to $5,500 per hour as of 7/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

The PC-24 quotes at the lower end of the Mexico super light band, and for a trip into a short or unpaved Mexico airstrip it is frequently the only jet that can take it at all.
