The Cessna Citation Mustang CE-510 is the smallest certified jet on Mexico’s charter market, suited to four-passenger trips on the shortest cross-border hops where moving at jet speed is the goal and cabin size is the trade.
Cessna designed the Mustang as a very light jet with single-pilot certification and two Pratt and Whitney Canada PW615F engines. It seats four to five passengers, cruises around 340 knots to 41,000 feet, and carries a range of roughly 1,150 nautical miles. Every Cessna Citation Mustang CE-510 we arrange flies with an operator certificated under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Cessna Citation Mustang CE-510 Fits Mexico
The Mustang’s natural Mexico mission is a small group crossing the US border: four executives from Houston or San Antonio into Monterrey, a family of four from Texas to a Los Cabos connection, or a quick turnaround run between two close Mexican cities. The cabin is compact and the passengers know it going in.
At 1,150 nautical miles the range is the binding constraint. Mexico City via Toluca from anywhere but the Texas border requires a fuel stop. We quote the Mustang for missions that fit the aircraft and point clients to a CJ1 or M2 when the route exceeds what it comfortably reaches.
Toluca’s high-elevation environment is the other consideration. At maximum payload on a warm day, density altitude at 8,460 feet reduces the Mustang’s useful load more than it affects a heavier light jet. The operator confirms performance on a per-flight basis; we build that into the planning conversation.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
