Mexico’s mining and exploration work sits in the north and center of the country, and the sites are generally a long way from any airport with a scheduled service. Charter moves the geologists, engineers, survey teams and samples, and it is often the only practical way to run a site visit inside a single day.

Exploration crews travel with equipment and in awkward numbers, which usually points at a turboprop rather than a jet. Turboprops handle shorter and rougher fields, and they cope better with the moderate-elevation airports common in central and northern Mexico than a light jet at full payload does.

Several mining regions sit in states carrying US State Department advisories. Zacatecas is Level 4 Do Not Travel, and Chihuahua is Level 3 Reconsider Travel. We do not soften those, and we set them out before a routing is agreed so the client makes the call with the advisory in front of them.
Samples and Survey Equipment
Core samples, survey instruments and lab-bound material are routine on these trips and none of them travel as ordinary baggage. Where samples are crossing a border, the customs treatment needs arranging in advance, and we coordinate that with the handler alongside the flight.

- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.

Mexico Patterns We Plan Around
Two things shape almost every Mexico charter regardless of the reason for the trip. The first is lead time. Landing and customs permits are applied for after a trip has been secured on the aircraft schedule, and the timeline is sometimes set by the local airport authorities, so the earlier you book, the more room we have to work with. The second is elevation. Toluca, the main Mexico City private jet gateway, sits at 8,460 feet, and on a warm afternoon its density altitude can pass 11,000 feet, which changes what an aircraft can lift.
