Bell Long Ranger

The Bell Long Ranger extends the Jet Ranger’s Mexico cabin to six seats, serving slightly larger groups on the short resort and coastal transfers where the smaller aircraft runs out of capacity.

Bell developed the Long Ranger as a stretched version of the Jet Ranger with an extended fuselage, six-seat capacity, and either a single or twin-turbine engine depending on variant. It cruises around 120 knots to 20,000 feet and carries a range of roughly 324 nautical miles.

Why the Bell Long Ranger Fits Mexico

Six seats makes the Long Ranger the right choice when a small family or corporate group outgrows the four-passenger Jet Ranger. At Mexico’s resort destinations that distinction is common: a couple with children and a nanny, an executive with two colleagues and a security detail, or a leisure group that does not need the full capacity of a larger twin-engine helicopter.

The 20,000-foot ceiling gives the Long Ranger better terrain clearance than the Jet Ranger, which opens a slightly wider range of routing options for transfers in Mexico’s more mountainous interior regions.

Short transfers under 200 nautical miles are the practical operating environment in Mexico. This is not an intercity helicopter; it is a resort and airport transfer aircraft that adds one row of seats to the Jet Ranger’s formula.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
