Beechcraft Denali

The Beechcraft Denali is still in certification testing as of 2026 and is not yet available for charter in Mexico, but its projected 1,600-nautical-mile range and 285-knot cruise would position it as a capable single-engine turboprop for Mexico’s domestic and short transborder routes when it enters service. Its GE Catalyst engine and pressurized cabin would give it a meaningful step up from older King Air variants.

The Beechcraft Denali is a single-engine pressurized turboprop under development by Textron Aviation, powered by the General Electric Catalyst engine. It is projected to seat 6 to 9 passengers, cruise at 285 knots, and have a ceiling of 31,000 feet with a range of approximately 1,600 nautical miles. Certification had not been completed as of mid-2026. Every Beechcraft Denali we arrange flies with an operator certificated under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Beechcraft Denali Fits Mexico

Once certified, the Denali’s 1,600-nautical-mile range and pressurized single-engine design would suit Mexico’s domestic charter market, where routes between secondary cities, coastal resorts, and the Yucatan Peninsula typically fall within 400 to 800 nautical miles. The aircraft could fill a gap between the smaller Pilatus PC-12 and the twin-engine King Air 250.

Mexico’s network of smaller airfields, including secondary airports in the Yucatan and coastal Oaxaca, would benefit from an aircraft with the Denali’s projected short-field capability and single-engine efficiency. Routes like Cancun to Merida or Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta are the kind of sectors the type is designed for.

The GE Catalyst engine is a modern FADEC-controlled powerplant with a performance envelope designed for high-altitude operations, which is relevant for Mexican airports at elevation. Actual performance at Toluca would depend on certification data not yet available.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
